Thinking about the Rapture

We watched a great DVD on Wednesday at the Woodvale Community Centre. The speaker was Joel Rosenburg a Jewish believer in Christ.

He has been a political campaign advisor to presidential candidates in America, and has also had the ear of Israeli politicians. He was telling us about the novels he has written using themes of Biblical prophecy and how the events in the stories have come true to the amazement and curiosity of American senators and the like. They have more than once invited him to the White House to show and to explain the scriptures to them!

Since his books are to do with end time prophecy, and therefore forthcoming events as well as those already fulfilled, he was encouraging us to pray for and witness to those who will be left behind after the church is raptured.

I was thinking about the rapture and my personal witness. Perhaps like me you sometimes think you haven't done enough. Well suddenly I thought of a title for Joel's next book. "The Final Witness!"

If people know that you are a Christian, that is you have accepted the forgiveness of sins gained for you on the cross by Jesus and so the gift of eternal life, then you will be taken up to be with the Lord at the rapture. So will every other Christian that our friends and loved ones know about! It will be our final witness to the power of God and the truth of the scriptures! There will be no further chance for us to tell anyone about the Lord, but it's pretty cool isn't it? Not that we don't carry on now telling people about the Lord....we want them to come with us don't we? To escape the wrath to come.
