Why is it that people are so uncomfortable about Jesus these days?
All you need do with most people is mention his name or the name of God, I mean actually say the words, and it seems as though you are classed as some sort of freak or oddball. Let me give you a few examples before moving on.
I recently told a friend whom I hadn’t seen or talked with for over 18 months that I had become a born again Christian – he asked so I told him (I would have anyway). His reaction was to burst into uncontrollable laughter for around 30 seconds and then say that he didn’t believe me, after all I had been in the Fire Service for over 20 years and they weren’t that “sort” of people.
Another friend I told over a year ago just sort of, well stopped seeing me, you know got out of touch; something that we had never done over a lifetimes friendship. I think it was probably when he asked me what had happened to change my life and I told him that God had spoken to me. Yes, I’m quite sure now – that was the reason he dropped me like a ton of bricks.
I have analysed these facts over and over and I have come to a fairly frightening conclusion. Not for me, but for lots of others who I wish I could help.
My conclusion is straightforward really – people are so far from God it is almost quite unbelievable, quite unbelievable. Take a good look around you at the moment; watch any news programme you care to and the content will always be the same.
Let me draw up a list for you to make it clear.
· If you are in a normal male/female relationship you are becoming a rare commodity
· If you do not agree with lesbianism and homosexuality you are not normal
· Murder and violence has become common place
· TV programmes get more violent and permissive by the day – you can watch pornography on the TV almost anytime you feel like it
· Everyone is entitled to their opinion – even when it makes no sense or is dangerous
· Children are becoming insolent, indolent and downright disrespectful
· Wars, violence everywhere you turn
Need I go on or does this ring some familiar bells with you?
Many people immediately turn to God (Oh they believe in Him selectively you know)
He’s to blame for this mess – He put us here in the first place so why does he let these things go on the way He does?
Let me answer that question once and for all.
When you have friends around for a meal or whatever why do you do that?
Is it because you want some company, some companionship and conversation; probably these will be the reasons. If you could control everyone by some remote computer so that you knew their every move before they made it that wouldn’t be too much fun would it?
That’s what God thought too – so He gave us the freedom of choice, we took it and look what happened.
He also gave us His Son – the Lord Jesus and Saviour.
Well, contrary too popular belief God can get angry – if you read parts of the Old testament you will see just how angry He can get.
It might interest you to know that the way things are at the moment in the world are clearly predicted in the Bible. Also everything in that book, to date, has come true.
I believe that we are in the last days as predicted in the Bible, and you know what happens then don’t you? Was that no!
Then let me tell you what it says.
The gates to heaven are narrow and only a few will get through – the remainder will perish is eternal damnation in hell – and that’s a long time.
But you don’t believe all that rubbish do you?
I bet you will when the chips are down - you will believe it then. But then might just be too late.
So wise up, listen to the word of your creator – He wants to save you, that’s why things aren’t over yet. He wants you to be with Him in heaven – that’s what he’s wanted all along, but it’s your decision and it’s your choice – He gave you that option when he created you.
For God’s sake come to God now before it’s too late
